Your records, explained
Privacy policy
This policy explains how Gautam Goyal, the developer of Rack Handover, handles information in the iPhone app, on this support website and through support email. For privacy questions, contact gautamgoyal7985@gmail.com.
Information in the app
Rack Handover stores the project names, client and site details, racks, equipment, port destinations, cable identifiers, notes and record timestamps you enter in the app’s local storage. It also keeps your appearance preference and navigation position on the device.
The app has no user account, advertising, tracking, analytics or automatic upload service. It does not send your project records to the developer. No third-party software development kits are included in this version.
Exported files and device backups
You can choose to export a project’s port records as CSV or save a JSON copy of all records. Apple’s file picker saves the file to the destination you select. If you choose iCloud Drive or another file provider, that provider may store the exported copy online under its own privacy policy. Review files before sharing client or site details.
Depending on your iPhone and backup settings, device backups may include the app’s data. Rack Handover does not operate a separate cloud sync service. Version 1.0 does not import JSON record copies back into the app.
Retention and deletion of app records
Local records remain until the app and its data are deleted through iPhone Storage. Offloading the app preserves its data. Save any records you need before deleting the app.
Exported files and device backups are separate copies. Delete them from their destinations or backup services when you no longer need them. The developer does not have a server copy of your project records to retrieve or delete.
Support correspondence
If you email support, you choose what to send. This may include your email address, message, app/iOS version and any attachments. The information is used to answer your request, investigate the issue and maintain support correspondence. Please avoid sending confidential client records; an anonymised example is usually enough.
The support address uses Google’s Gmail service. Google processes email under its privacy policy. Support messages remain in the support mailbox until deleted; there is no automatic deletion schedule. You can request deletion of your support correspondence by emailing the same address. Information may need to be retained where legally required.
Website hosting and technical information
This static support website is hosted by Cloudflare. When you visit, Cloudflare processes technical request information such as your IP address, browser/device information and requested pages to deliver and protect the site. It may keep operational and security logs under its privacy policy.
The website code does not add advertising, analytics scripts, tracking pixels, signup forms or a customer database. It does not set application cookies or use browser storage. Cloudflare may use technical or security cookies as part of its service. Hosting and email providers may process information in countries other than your own.
Your choices and privacy requests
You control the records you enter, the files you export and the information you send by email. You can use the app without contacting support or visiting this website. For questions or requests concerning support correspondence or other information held by the developer, email gautamgoyal7985@gmail.com.
Only enter information you are authorised to record. Rack Handover documents observations; it does not test cables or verify network connections.
Policy updates
If the app or these services change, this policy will be updated with a new effective date. Changes to the app’s data handling will also be reflected in the app’s privacy information where required.
